Japanese
The Imperial Japanese Army had been seeking expansion on the Asiatic mainland during the 1930s, aiming to secure a supply of raw materials and resources, while at the same time neutralising the threat posed by the Soviet Union. After the difficulty they had faced in defeating the Chinese, they next sought expansion in the southern regions which brought them into a confrontation with the Western powers, including Great Britain and the US. Japan officially joined the war with the attack on Pearl Harbour, before rapidly overrunning large sections of Southeast Asia and the western Pacific regions. However in early 1943, Japan's fortunes turned after defeats at Guadalcanal and New Guinea. The Japanese army began to suffer against the ever-growing might of the US armed forces in the Pacific theatre. Packs contain 10 foot, or 1 vehicle, or 1 gun with crew, unless stated otherwise.
